True Crime Date Night is not your typical true-crime podcast. It's a married couple talking about true-crime, but the husband is clueless about all of the subject matter. Join them in their bi-weekly discussion where they talk about some of the most famous cases to date along with cases even you may not have even heard about.
Nikki, the creator and writer of the show has been obsessed with true-crime for years now. Honestly, she cannot remember a time that she wasn't. During the quarantine, Nikki started listening to all the true crime podcasts she could find. At the end of the year, she ran into a unique problem. She was all out of content. Starting her own just felt like a natural progression.
Her husband K.C. has been an amateur audio engineer for years now. His interest began in High School after he bought his first guitar. Over time, he acquired FL Studio and began to continue to practice at mixing and mastering sound design and audio production. When his wife Nikki approached him about starting a podcast, he quickly began to look at studio equipment, podcast recording do's and don'ts, and even wrote an intro theme.
After writing a script they were ready to record and release their first podcast. They started with a simple trailer and sent it to some of their close friends and family. It was well received and fueled their desire to release an episode. Nikki chose to record an episode on the Maura Murray disappearance. On The 2nd of January, 2021, "True Crime Date Night" was released using a podcasting platform called anchor.fm. Within one week they were well on their way to over 100 listens on services like iTunes, Spotify, and PocketCasts.
