Hello and welcome to another episode of True Crime Date Night, my name is KC. Unfortunately for this episode, I will not be joined by my wife Nikki because she is currently out of town.
Tonight’s episode will be part one of a two-part mini-series about the tragic and beguiling story of Ellen Greenberg. Ellen was a teacher from Pennsylvania who met an untimely death by multiple stab wounds on January 26th, 2011. But when the police arrive at the scene, they deem the death a suicide, even with evidence and reports to suggest otherwise. In this series, we will dive into these reports and speak to her friends about how Ellen’s death could not have been the result of suicide.
This evening’s episode is an exclusive and emotional interview with Ellen’s long-time friend Alyson, who was more than willing to speak to us about Ellen.
I do have to warn you all, tonight’s episode will contain content not suitable for all listeners, including dialogue about death, suicide, mental health, and murder. If these subjects are too intense for you, we will catch up with you for the next episode.
Up now is the interview between Nikki and Alyson recorded on April 21st, 2021.
(phone interview unscripted)
Wow, what an incredibly powerful story. We will now have a short sponsor break, but after that, I would like to ask you all to join our call to action for justice.
Currently, the Greenberg’s have a social media presence on the Facebook page “Justice for Ellen” and an online petition at change.org. I am asking all our listeners to utilize these tools to help in the pursuit of justice. Every victim of a crime deserves their story, the truth, to be heard and known. The families and friends of victims deserve solace in knowing the true events. Everyone deserves justice. And I find it appalling that as Alyson mentioned, either laziness or something more nefarious has blocked Ellen and her family from getting just that. The truth. But in pursuit of the truth, I ask you all to be cautious, be critical, and be curious.
Thank you all for listening to tonight’s episode. Our next episode, which will be released on the 16th of May, will be a deep dive into Ellen’s life leading up to her death and an examination of the reports by experts. I will have links for the Justice for Ellen page and the chage.org petition on our website, truecrimedatenight.com. Please follow the page and sign the petition so hopefully we all can pressure the officials to change their stance on this tragic story. Thank you all for listening and have a good night everyone.
